Black Fungal or Mucormycosis among Covid 19 Patients

Black fungus or Mucormycosis, caused by a group of mold called Mucormycetes (a black fungal virus). Black fungal infection in India is a very rare but serious infection nowadays. These fungi live in the environment, particularly in soil and in decaying organic matter, such as leaves, compost piles, or rotten wood. Till now increase in infections is among people infected with COVID-19 and those who have recovered from the disease. in COVID 19 patients the reason for black fungal is a high dependency on steroids. Patients with COVID-19 have weak immunity and a large number of them are put on steroids to reduce inflammation in the lungs for Covid-19 which helps to stop some of the damage that happened when the body's immune system goes into overdrive to fight with coronavirus. Mucormycosis or black fungal can be avoided by using masks if you are visiting dusty construction sites. Wear shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves while working with soil like gardening, moss, or manure. Maintain personal hygiene including a thorough scrub bath.
