Black Fungal or Mucormycosis among Covid 19 Patients
Black fungus or Mucormycosis, caused by a group of mold called Mucormycetes (a black fungal virus). Black fungal infection in India is a very rare but serious infection nowadays. These fungi live in the environment, particularly in soil and in decaying organic matter, such as leaves, compost piles, or rotten wood. When an ill patient inhales these fungal spores, causes complications to get an infection that commonly affects the chest cavities, sinuses, or lungs.

Mucormycosis or black fungal can be avoided by using masks if you are visiting dusty construction sites. Wear shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves while working with soil like gardening, moss, or manure. Maintain personal hygiene including a thorough scrub bath.
